3-Time QSLL Scoring Leader Tim
Bergin returns to Capital Region
Axemen for 2018 Season

Former Capital Region Axemen captain Tim Bergin will be returning to the Axemen lineup for this
upcoming season, after the Tyendinaga Thunderbirds announced that they will not be competing in the
TNSLL this season. Bergin will be another dangerous scoring weapon on the floor for the Axemen,
adding to an already potent offense.

Bergin led the QSLL in points for the 2014, 2015, and 2016 QSLL seasons, as well as placing in the top-10
in scoring for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In total, over his Senior “B” lacrosse career so far, he has
amassed a total of 389 points in only 73 games played, scoring at an average rate of more than 5 points
per game.

Needless to say, having Bergin quarterbacking the Axemen’s offense for the 2018 season makes the
Axemen even more dangerous this year, and might even push them as favourites to represent the QSLL
in this year’s President’s Cup tournament.

Also returning to Ottawa this season are former Capital Region Axemen Blake Kenny and Nick
Sanseverino, who were both members of the team in 2015 and 2016. Both will be going out of the front
door on offense alongside Bergin.

Opposing teams’ defensive corps will have their hands full this season trying to contain the returning
trio, not to mention 2017 QSLL scoring leader Mark Vradenburg and Axemen mainstays Jordan Joncas
and current captain Raj Wasson. Vradenburg will be looking to repeat as league-leader for the 2017
season, now that he will have complementing offensive catalysts playing alongside him to draw some
attention away from opposing defenders.

Even though the Axemen boast a stingy defense corps and solid goaltending, Capital Region, with the
addition of Bergin and all the rest, will certainly be able to hold their own in a shootout this year as well.
